Engagement

Statutory year-end audit

Independent examination of annual financial statements for companies that need an auditor’s report under Taiwan company reporting rules.

Who this engagement is for

Finance directors, founders, and group controllers who must file audited accounts for a Taiwan company — including foreign-invested entities near science parks and manufacturing hubs in Miaoli and neighbouring counties.

What you receive

  • A planning memorandum that sets materiality, risk focus, and the sample plan before fieldwork begins
  • Substantive testing of revenue cut-off, inventory existence (where relevant), payroll, related-party balances, and significant estimates
  • Written management points on control weaknesses we observe during the engagement
  • An independent auditor’s report suitable for filing with the competent authorities and for use by lenders or parent companies

What is not included

Tax return preparation, bookkeeping, or management consulting sit outside this engagement unless separately agreed. We also do not provide absolute assurance that fraud will be detected; our work is designed to obtain reasonable assurance that the statements are free from material misstatement.

How the work unfolds

  1. Intake and independence check — we confirm no conflicts and gather prior-year files, trial balance, and board minutes.
  2. Planning visit — usually one to three days at your premises to walk the close process and identify high-risk balances.
  3. Fieldwork — sample testing, confirmations, and analytical review, scheduled around your month-end calendar.
  4. Clearance — draft findings, proposed adjustments, and a closing meeting with those charged with governance.
  5. Report issuance — final report once representations are signed and outstanding items are cleared.

Preparation on your side

Provide a locked trial balance, bank reconciliations, fixed-asset register, inventory count sheets (if applicable), and access to the general ledger for the period under review. Delays in supporting schedules typically extend the calendar more than the fee.

Next step

Request an engagement letter with your company name, year-end date, and whether this is a first-year or continuing audit. We reply within two business days with scoping questions and a fee range.
